ALONE IN THE CLASSROOM
Posted by Brian Bassingthwaighte in Canadian, tags: Canadian, dysfuntional family, LiteratureAlone is is a complicated narrative skillfully woven by one of Canada’s great writers. Annie tells the tale of her adventuress and bohemian aunt, Connie Flood, who began her career as a school teacher in Saskatchewan. After a young girl is assaulted by the sadistic principle Connie leaves teaching and becomes a reporter in Ontario. But Annie’s tale is also her own searching for her self, her truth and her story is also told. A story of love, hate, desire and redemption. A must read.
